“Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.” – Zechariah 2:13
A couple of weeks ago, a small group I study with discussed this scripture in Zechariah. I thought I would share my perspective here with you. My hope is in Jesus:
Zechariah’s prophecy of the coming Messiah, not only gave hope to the Jews, formerly captive in Babylon, but it also gives me great hope. Through God’s Word, and even in our lives, we have seen God’s promises fulfilled from before Jesus was born, then though out his life, and since His ascension into heaven. And the best is yet to come for us: Jesus is coming back for the children of God!!
That one promise keeps me going. Keeps me worshipping my Savior today and every day. Keeps me praying. I stand in awe of Jesus. He thought I was to die for.
This scripture reminds me to hold fast to God’s promises. I must continue to do the job He has called me to do. Today, and every day, I must do work diligently and quietly for His purpose, resisting the ploys of Satan and the glittering whispers of the world.
