Hope for the New Year

For many, January 1st is a welcomed opportunity to start over from bad experiences over the last 12 months; to make some things better in their life. No matter what happened in your life, good or bad, in 2019, God has given you new mercies and moved you forward to a new year.

Try not to look back on 2019 with regrets. Instead, reflect and identify the blessings from God on good and bad days of this past year. These reflections show how God showed up right when you needed Him. And He probably showed up at times when you least expected it!

Go ahead. Reflect on those times. I am sure you will discover some blessings you had not even considered before. Give thanks to Him for it all. Give thanks for 2019 and all that it was, good or bad. Yes, give thanks for the bad. Because He was there with you through it all. And if you allow it, He will use the bad to make something good in your life…if He hasn’t already!

“Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his presence continually!
Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered..” – 1 Chronicles 16:11-12

Before you place your hope in ‘things’ this new year, place your hope in a re-newed, or new, relationship with Jesus Christ. Seek His will for your life and embrace the new year with Him.

If we invite Him to join us, Jesus will be with us every minute of every day of 2020 (yes, all 365 of them). He will never stop loving us and protecting us. He will comfort us on the bad days and He will rejoice with us on the good days!

“The Lord your God is in your midst; a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.” – Zephania 3:17

I cannot imagine embracing this new year without Jesus. How about you?

Life IS better with JESUS!
