Be a Doer

The entire book of James is a guide to Christian living.  But it’s not solely intended for new believers. Mature Christians need to be reminded how to live because we can become complacent, discouraged and grumpy. Yes, it is true! We all fall short!

The world is in utter chaos. Governments cannot get along. Families cannot get along. Friends cannot get along. AND, God’s own people struggle to get along sometimes,

Brothers and sisters in Christ, we are supposed to be setting the example for the rest of the world to see. We are supposed to be reflecting the love and light of Jesus.

We must obey God. The Bible (God’s word) holds His instructions and promises for us.

While we cannot control how the rest of the world behaves, we can control our behavior and strive to be doers of the word. Let’s stop our petty debates and redirect our focus the things of God, serving Him and others.

God never promised us that His plan for our life would be easy to follow, but He did promise us abundant blessings along the way. Let’s pray to be stronger witnesses of God’s word and the good news.

Let’s be doers of His word.

Ready or Not

The Holy Bible,  the true word of God,  tells us we are not accidents or happen-stances. We were purposely and wonderfully made by God, the creator of the universe. He knew us before we were born and He made us for his divine purpose.

“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” – Psalm 139:13-14

This includes you. God created you. God loves you. He wants you to live in joy and free from the bondage of sin. God’s divine purpose for your life is to have a personal relationship with Him through his son Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for your sins. And through that relationship, share the good news of Jesus with others, for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

Ready or Not, He is coming back for us!

God’s word tells us Jesus is coming back soon!

My sincerest and deepest prayer is that all of my family, friends and readers are ready for Jesus. Are you ready for Jesus to come back?

What does it mean to be ready for Jesus?

God loves you more than you can comprehend and He wants to give you an immeasurable gift: salvation. All you have to do is profess Jesus as the son of God and King of Kings, confess your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and then, you will have eternal life! And when you experience the joy of living with Jesus, you will want to tell others the Good News!

If you believe Jesus died for you and you are ready to accept the gift of salvation, just pray:

Dear God, I know I am a sinner. Thank you for sending your son Jesus to die for my sins. Please forgive my sins. I proclaim Jesus as my Lord and Savior and invite Him into my heart and life. Please direct my life according to your purpose. Thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. AMEN

If you made a decision for Jesus just now, please reach out to someone at your local church, a Christian family member or myself for prayer and direction as you begin your relationship with Jesus. God bless you!

Life is better with Jesus!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

God’s Perfect Gift

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” – John 1:12-14 (ESV)

Jesus was sent to live among men. HE was the PERFECT teacher, the PERFECT example, and ultimately the PERFECT sacrifice for ALL sins.

Jesus’ death on the Cross cleared the way for us to be saved and have eternal life; IF we will believe in HIM , repent our sins to HIM and accept HIM as our LORD & Savior!

Have you accepted God’s PERFECT gift: JESUS?

Living by God’s Design

Most people have a favorite sport and team they like to follow. And there is nothing wrong with that; God wants us to enjoy our lives. He designed us to work, play and to worship HIM, not a football team, basketball team, race car driver, etc.

I used to be a real fanatic over a ACC basketball team. But soon after I rededicated my life and service to Jesus, I realized my emotions were too connected to the idea of that team being the best. So, I stopped following the team. I still enjoy watching a basketball game but no more on a ‘have to tune in tonight’ basis.

What would our nation be like if we all were as radically excited about Jesus as we are about the Super Bowl, the NCAA Championship, the Daytona 500, or the Kentucky Derby?

Some people are not fanatics of sport but enjoy hobbies like the beach, boating, secular music groups and concerts. In other words, many times we are just not spectators, we are active participants of our hobbies and points of interests. And there is nothing wrong with that at all. God wants us to relax and have fun. BUT He also wants us to worship HIM! Everything has its appropriate time and place by God’s design.

What kind of foundation are we building in our children’s lives when we trade Sunday worship time for a hobby? More importantly, what are we saying to God?

Professing Christ-centered families and homes should place Jesus first, before everything. If we do, it will go without discussion that time with God is priority over all other activities.

If we want our children to put God first, we must worship God with them, before everything else and put first God before everything else.

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to the one and despise the other.” – Matthew 6: 24

Pray for the Children

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving”. – Colossians 4:2 The world outside your door is in evil chaos orchestrated by Satan. Parents and grandparents, are you praying for your children and grandchildren? Friends and relatives, are you praying for the children? Pray for the children. If your children or grandchildren are …

Put God First

Put God First

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
– Philippians 4:8

In this verse, Paul says to program ourselves to think about things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely,  of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy.

But, HOW?

Put God first in all that we do.

The Greatest Gift of Love

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation……. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”- Romans 10:9-10, 13

God loves us! This we know because He gave his only son to die for us so that we could receive the gift of salvation and live forever in His kingdom.

There is no condemnation by Jesus. When He died on the cross for us, He traded his righteousness for our sin. Remember He is sinless. But he came and lived on earth, to teach us how to live, then he died through sufferings that should be ours, the sinners. He took our place. The greatest gift of love…. ever.

Jesus died for us, and we should be living for him! If you believe, and have confessed Jesus is Lord, and repented of your sins, you have received the gift of salvation. You are a child of God! You are not condemned but guaranteed eternal life through Jesus. Don’t let Satan tell you otherwise! Celebrate your freedom in Christ and let Him walk with you each day!
